Macworld Apple has just released iOS 26.4.1 and iPadOS 26.4.1. Apple says this only included bug fixes and no security updates, with simple patch notes: “This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone.” According to users on Apple’s developer forums, it actually fixes a pretty significant iCloud sync bug introduced in iOS 26.4. According to this thread on the Apple Developer Forums, the bug prevented devices running iOS/iPadOS 26.4 from receiving notifications that iCloud data had changed, so they weren’t getting data that was updated from other devices. This impacted all first and third-party apps that use CloudKit, including even Apple’s own Passwords app. This bug appears to be resolved in the 26.4.1 updates. If you’re running the iOS 26.5 beta, you should be fine, as the bug doesn’t appear there. To update your device, open Settings and tap General, then Software Updates and follow the on-screen instructions.
