Middle East war live: Israel strike kills 7 in central Beirut as Gulf ship attacks surge

Lebanon said an Israeli strike on central Beirut’s seafront killed at least seven people early on Thursday, in the latest attack in the heart of the capital as Iran-backed Hezbollah launched more missiles at Israel. Meanwhile, explosions struck two foreign oil tankers in the Persian Gulf off Iraq, killing at least one person, authorities said. Follow our liveblog for the latest updates.
