Syria : Did Washington "abandon" the Kurds?

Syria's government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces agreed a new ceasefire on January 20 as Washington said the SDF's purpose in fighting Islamic State group jihadists was largely over. The announcement came after the army sent reinforcements to the Kurds' province stronghold in the northeast. FRANCE 24's Wassim Nasr breaks it down for us.
