Macworld Apple announced that this Saturday’s Major League Soccer match between the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo FC will be captured entirely using the iPhone 17 Pro. The phone will be used to shoot the match live, as well as during the pre-game warmup and player introductions, in-net goal views, and shots throughout the stadium. “With cameras positioned throughout the venue, the broadcast will deliver the pristine video quality fans expect, alongside dynamic new perspectives that bring viewers closer to the action, made possible by the small form factor of iPhone,” Apple said in a press release. The match airs from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA, on May 23 at 7:30 p.m. Pacific on Apple TV. MLS coverage is now a part of a regular Apple TV subscription; before the current MLS season, Apple offered MLS Season Pass, which was a subscription to MLS TV content but not part of regular Apple TV programming.
