The US army has begun transferring up to 7,000 detained Islamic State (IS) group fighters from Syria to prison facilities in Iraq as the Kurdish-led, US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces start handing back Syrian prisons to the government. An initial group of around 150 detainees was moved on Wednesday.
