Not ready for iOS 27? Grab iOS 26.7 to keep your iPhone secure

Macworld We think iOS 27 is really very good. One of Apple’s best iPhone updates in years, honestly. But if you’re for any reason unwilling or unable to update to iOS 27 and you still want all the dozens of security updates that come with it, Apple has you covered with iOS 26.7. It doesn’t include quite as many security updates as iOS 27 because there are lots of fundamental changes to the low-level code in the latest release, but there are still nearly 80 fixes in iOS 26.7. Apple’s release notes for iOS 26.7 don’t mention anything other than the security updates; there are no other significant feautres in this release. To install iOS 26.7 on your iPhone or iPadOS 26.7 on your iPad: Open Settings Tap General Tap Software Updates You’ll probably see an option to install iOS 26.7 and another option to install iOS 27. If you only wish to stay on the iOS 26 branch, choose iOS 26.7.
